How easy it is to transfer from one states national guard to the other?

I will be commissioning as a 2nd Lt in about a year. I am going to be going National guard or Reserve, I am trying to decide which would be more fitting. I will be pursuing a career in Law Enforcement, so I cannot say for sure which department I will be working for or where. If i get a better paying job somewhere else in the country I want to have the freedom of going without resrictions from the National Guard. My question is, How easy is it for an Army officer to transfer from one states national guard to another?

You will need to do a NGB Form 22-5-R-E, Interstate Transfer. The below link details some of the instructions. I have also attached the go Guard link.

May I recommend the Nevada Army National Guard – there are two new MP units which you can automatically fill in as an LT (one in Reno and the other is in Las Vegas). In addition there are always openings in the NHP, Clark County, Washoe (Reno) police departments.

If are going to transfer make sure you Basic Course is completed otherwise you may have a wait.
