Why is it when I leave a cup in my car with soda, a few days later it will leave a hole in the cup?

This had ocurred with Pepsi and a orange juice slushi from Sonic, does this have anything to do that they are acids? I know some will say to, well do not leave the cup in there, but I am quite interested in the science behind this.

I don’t think it has anything to do with that.

Try it with water? it still happens, how do I know this because I always forget about the back cup holders and my kids get water at places a lot.

It happens because it is a paper cup, it does not happen with plastic (at least not to me). When paper has liquid in it, it can only last so long before it absorbs more making it less durable and therefore causing a hole in the cup or for the cup to leak.
